Cookie Recipes for Christmas - Snickerdoodle Cookies

A classic cookie with a funny name, easy to make.

1 / 2 cup butter, softened

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar, divided

1 egg

1 / 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1 / 2 cups all purpose flour

1 / 4 teaspoon baking powder

1 / 4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, eggs and vanilla.

In another bowl, combine the flour,Baking soda and cream of tartar, gradually into the cream mix.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon.

Make the dough into 1-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart onto baking paper type sheet. Bake are lightly browned for 10 to 12 minutes or until it. Allow to cool.

Makes 30 cookies.

Makes about 72 cookies.

Bread and Olive Tapas

Make satisfying and delicious tapas that are simply pieces of bread with marinated olives. This is an authentic Spanish small plates. Here's what you need?

Bread

Using the best bread for bread and olive tapas, in my humble opinion, is not a fresh baguette - found easily at your local supermarket or favorite specialty bread store.

My favorite bread is from Le Boulanger, here in the U.S.. They make wonderful freshBread, which in many wonderful flavors.

Olives

Mix the above ingredients with a few tablespoons of olive oil, then add the olives and coat. Next, have them sterilized for one or two hours before transferring to a storage vessel. Then the olives with your favorite cause --Olive oil on all of them. Pop serve them in the refrigerator for at least a week, and at room temperature. This is one of those recipes you can definitely go on to serve at any time.

Some tips for the marinade:

Use as much or as little garlic as you like.

Use whatever herbs you
Add honey or orange juice for variation
Add 4 fluid ounces vermouth, do something a little differently
Add no salt - the residue of the brine adds enough salt

Serve thetorn pieces of baguette or other bread on a pretty plate with your olives. Add to delicious for words!

Kickin' Sweet Southern Cornbread

My husband has me hooked on the sweet southern style corn bread many years ago when I told him I did not say, like corn bread. He went to had me the best cornbread I ever ate, and I have his application cornbread since.

A staple in our holiday table, with chili, meatloaf, or just for yourself ... We also make it with breakfast!

Type: Bread

Drink: soft butter

Preparation time: 8 min

Cook Time: 25-30 minutes

Yield: 18 'square loaf or 12 muffins

Ingredients:

1 3 / 4 cups yellow corn meal - you can use white flour.

2 Eggs - Large

2 1 / 3 cups milk - buttermilk is even better!

1 / 2 cup sugar - use white sugar.

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tsp Baking Soda

1 teaspoon salt

1 / 8 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 tablespoon butter - bacon works remarkably well.

2 / 3 cup whole kernel corn - * Optional

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 F.

2. Grease with butter or bacon fat a cast iron skillet, or an 8′ square baking pan.

3. In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients and stir.

4. In a separate bowl break eggs and beat until frothy, then add milk or buttermilk and mix.

5. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until blended. Allow to sit for 10 min to soften cornmeal.

6. Pour into baking dish and put in oven.

7. Bake approximately 25-30 min, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.

8. Serve with softened butter and Enjoy!

You can find this recipe for love and do it all the time! Whenever I can sue my custody to convince to do it, it's so wonderful! It is especially good with fejoida!

Dutch Oven Cinnamon Bread - How to Make a Dutch Oven Bread That is Great for Breakfast or Dessert

This is a simple bread recipe that you can cook in your Dutch oven. It is a delicious bread, the cinnamon as a dessert or breakfast can be used. It is sometimes called Monkey Bread.

Ingredients:

4 cans refrigerated tube biscuits

1 cup brown sugar

1 stick butter or margarine

1 cup sugar

4 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions:

Cut each biscuit into fourths. You can have several at a time and cutbe saved by all of them some time. Add the sugar and cinnamon in a zip-lock bag. Add all the biscuit quarters shake until they are all well coated. Melt the butter by inverting the lid of the dutch oven and placing it on or near the fire. Since one side might warmer than the others, you need the cover, rotate or stir the butter to melt, they know all about.

Place the coated biscuit in the bottom quarter of the Dutch oven. Pour the melted butter over the Rusk area, making sure that you get butter on each of them. Put 6-8 coals under Dutch oven and 10-12 on top. Bake for about 30 minutes, but you want to check occasionally to make sure that the stove is too hot and the bread does not burn. Recipe For an Indian Crab Curry

Make a delicious Indian crab curry using spices and coconut milk. A curry in India means a dish which has gravy. It is normally eaten either with plain rice or chapati (Indian bread). Enjoy the flavor of crabs mixed with onion, ginger, garlic and spices. This recipe goes best with plain boiled rice. If you are a seafood fan, you will love this recipe.
Serves 2-3

The Ingredients required are as follows

2 Crabs (approx 750 gm)
2 small Onions
2 Tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
4 dry red chilies (break and remove the seeds)
1 Tsp dry roasted poppy seeds
1 Tbsp dry roasted Coriander seeds
1 Tsp dry roasted Cumin seeds
1/4 Tsp dry roasted Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
4-5 black peppercorns
1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
100 ml Coconut milk
1/2 Tsp Tamarind paste
1 Bay leaf
2-3 Curry leaves
2 Tsp oil
1/2 Tsp Fennel seeds (saunf)
Salt to taste

How to dry roast the spices?
Simply heat a heavy bottom non stick pan and put the spice) in it (without oil. Reduce the heat to a minimum. Stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to maximize, not roasted. Come after about 1-2 minutes, a lovely aroma of spices and change the color of each well. Remove them on a plate and lead the roasting of the other spices in the same way.

Clean the crabs and put them in a pot with water (a little more than is necessary) they cover up. Add 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring it to boil and cook thecrabs for 7-10 minutes. Remove the crabs, add 1 bay leaf in the water and reduce this water by half.

Meanwhile, take 4 dry red chilies, break them and remove as many seeds as you can and discard the seeds (we need the chilies to give a good color to the gravy yet not making it too hot).

In half a cup of hot water, soak the roasted poppy seeds and these chilies (for 1/2 an hour).

Dry roast the other ingredients. Now blend the onions, ginger-garlic, soaked chilies and poppy seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, pepper corns and curry leaves, to a smooth paste.

In a pan heat the oil, add the fennel seeds and saute for 10 seconds and add this paste. Cook on a low to medium heat until dry and light brown. Add the turmeric powder. Saute for 2-3 minutes more. Strain the reduced water from the crabs and slowly add in the onion paste, till the desired consistency is reached.

Bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and add the coconut milk. Stir continuously until the milk is mixed with the sauce. Add the tamarind paste. Sneak taste and make appropriate adjustments. Bring it back to the boil and add the crabs. Turn off the heat.

Serve the shrimp with simple boiled rice curry.

German Rye Bread With German Bread Dip

This German rye bread recipe makes 2 of hearty sandwiches, dense rye bread. The bread is very good for themselves, or serve them with the German bread dip recipe for a special presentation. If you plan to serve the bread with the dip, prepare the dip recipe first and let it chill and also the bread recipe.

German Dip

1 / 2 cup salad dressing or mayonnaise
1 / 2 cup cream
1 teaspoondried onion flakes
1 teaspoon parsley, finely chopped
1 teaspoon dill
1 / 4 teaspoon celery seed
1 / 2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Mix well until all the herbs are always mixed. Place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

Rye bread

Ingredients:

2 packages dry yeast
1 / 2 cup warm water
1 1 / 3 cups warm milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 / 2 cup sorghum molasses
2 tablespoons butter, roomTemperature
3 1 / 3 cups rye flour
2 1 / 2 cups flour, white bread
2 tablespoons cumin

Preparation:

1. Dissolve yeast in type 1 / 2 cup warm water in a small bowl.

2. In a large bowl combine milk, sugar and salt. Beat in molasses, butter, dissolved yeast mixture, cumin and 1 cup of rye flour.

3. Add a small amount at a time, mix in the remaining rye flour. Add the flour, a small amount at a time and mix until the doughKnead stiff enough to win.

4. Knead on a floured board for a few minutes, by as much flour as needed to keep the dough from sticking to your hands. Knead until the dough forms a soft, smooth ball.

5. Grease a large bowl. Place dough in a bowl and turn to grease top of dough.

6. Cover dough with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for 1 or 2 hours or up to twice as large.

7. Punch down dough into two halves. Form each half of dough into the shape of a roundLoaf. Place loaves on a greased baking sheet. Cover loaves and let rise in a warm place 1 or 2 hours or up to twice as large.

8. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F until loaves in the oven. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the bread sounds hollow, and are picked up when she has brown.

Serve warm with butter, or breaking a loaf of German rye bread into pieces and serve with chilled German bread dip.
